What is a community coordinator?
Based on the work that has been done in the Mission Driven Mozillians project, community coordinators were defined as:
Volunteers who have been identified as experts based on their ability to coordinate, support and expand communities
The council established that reps are a natural fit for the role of community coordinators, and worked on a more specific definition of the community coordinator role, which deepen the understanding of what are the responsibilities of reps within the community.
Community coordinator are aligned and committed Mozillians volunteers who are interested in:
- finding and connecting new talent with Mozilla projects they are contributing to
- developing communities on a functional and/or local level
- supporting local communities and Mozilla to have an effective and decentralized environment for contribution
- creating collaborations with other local communities in an effort to spread Mozilla’s mission and expand Mozilla’s outreach in the open source ecosystem
